It is safe to drink alcohol while using the patch. It may be something you want to avoid, at least during the first few weeks of using the patch, if it was an activity that you used to associate heavily with smoking. Also, sitting around in a smoky pub or bar may not be the best environment to be in through the early stages of your efforts to quit smoking.
