Both Nicorette Gum and Nicorette Gum are sugar-free. Nicotinell Gum does contain traces of saccharin. If you are a diabetic and take insulin, however, the way that this medicine works may be altered by the fact that you no longer smoke. In the case of diabetes mellitus it may be required that you reduce the dosage of subcutaneous insulin after you stop smoking because of your body's increased capacity to absorb it.
